FAQs
What is Diatomaceous earth?
Diatomaceous earth is a naturally occurring mineral that is made from the fossilized remains of tiny aquatic organisms, which is absorbent and quick drying.
Where does the water go in a stone mat?
Experience an almost magical moment every time you step out of the shower. As water touches the Xmarrat Bath Stone Mat, it seems to vanish before your eyes, leaving the surface cool and dry to the touch in seconds.
The secret lies in its composition of natural diatomaceous earth, a remarkable material so porous it can absorb 150% of its weight in moisture. The water isn't gone; it's been instantly drawn into the stone to evaporate, providing the clean, satisfying feeling of a perfectly dry surface underfoot.
This constant cycle ensures you are always stepping onto a fresh, hygienic, and dry surface, a stark contrast to damp, traditional bathmats.
How to maintain the long-lasting absorbency of the stone bath mat?
It can hold up to 150% of its weight in water, it needs adequate airflow to rapidly dry. Slightly lifted using non-slip pad, let it fully dry between uses. If overly wet, prop it against a wall, once return to original color, it's ready to use.
Is a diatomite mat safe?
Yes. Rest assured, Safety is not just a feature of the Xmarrat Bath Stone; it is integral to its very nature. It is crafted from its natural diatomaceous earth, completely free from the synthetic chemicals or harsh substances you might worry about.
This natural composition is not only the secret to its rapid drying but also provides a secure, non-slip footing you can trust. It's a worry-free foundation for any bathroom. People with sensitive skin can enjoy peace of mind.
Are stone drying mats sanitary?
Yes, the sanitary nature of a stone drying mat is one of its most compelling features.
Imagine a bathroom surface that naturally resists the unsanitary conditions of a typical wet floor. The Xmarrat Bath Stone accomplishes just that. Their genius lies in their ability to dry almost instantly, which actively prevents the lingering moisture that allows mold, mildew, and bacteria. It’s a revolutionary departure from soggy fabric mats that require constant washing to stay fresh.
Regular care and cleaning can ensure that your mats remain a sanitary choice long after you’ve purchased.
How long does a diatomite bath mat last?
We're glad you asked, we hope this is the last bath mat you ever need to buy. Xmarrat Bath Stones are meant to be durable, but on rare occasions, they can break with enough force or weight. To prevent this we advise always having the anti-slip pad in place between the floor and the mat.
How To Clean And Care For Stone Bath Mat?
Clean light residues with water and very gently use provided sandpaper for tougher stains.
After use, stand the mat against the wall to ventilate and dry.
Why choose Xmarrat stone bath mat?
Compared to traditional mats, Xmarrat stone bath mats dry instantly and are easy to clean (clean light residues with water and very gently use the provided sandpaper for tougher stains). What's more, our stone bath mat comes with a non-slip mat.
This is good. I wasn't really convinced when I got this that water would dry away so quickly. But the water really dries within seconds. It not very soft like the bathroom rug. But it looks quite durable and looks nice in the bathroom.
This stone drying bath mat is both pretty and practical. It’s a light gray color with a simple but elegant floral pattern that adds a clean look to the bathroom. It works perfectly for my household because my kids often step out of the shower without drying off first, leaving bath rugs soaked and musty. I keep this right outside the bathtub, and as soon as they step onto it, the mat absorbs the water quickly and keeps it from spreading to the floor. There’s no damp smell since the water stays on the mat instead of seeping underneath, and it dries fairly quickly.I’ve owned a similar one in the past that eventually cracked over time, so I’m hoping this one holds up better. This one is definitely more attractive than my old plain gray mat. I also like that the floral design isn’t just for looks -because of the indentations, some of the water pools in the grooves, which helps keep it contained and off the floor. I would also like to mention that it came nicely packaged in a box and bubble wrapped. So far, I’m really happy with this and would recommend it.
This thing is massive. I wasn't expecting such a big one to show up. I love it though. I have little kids and I'm constantly washing our bath mat because they get it soaked and spill everything on it. This thing dries almost instantly and when they do spill stuff on it. You just rinse it off. It lays perfectly flat and feels great on the feet. The design is cute and the color is great. It's a fairly thick hunk of rock. It's heavy duty but not crazy heavy. So easy to clean.
Sooo i guess i didn't read the description as closely as i thought or i didnt actually think this was made out of stone lol but guys seriously this bath mat is AMAZING!!! After going through many and i mean maaaany bath mats. I was starting to lose hope. This being a cat loving home...most rugs or mats get destroyed rather quickly lol but this bad boy!!! Worth every penny!!! I know the price tag is a bit high...but over the years and multiple mats. I dont think we'll be buying another one in a very long time! Unless its to get another one of these for our other Bathroom when we move! This is seriously the bath mat you didn't know you needed! The picture is of me dumping a giant cup of water on it...you can literally see from the top right corner that its already started to dry. Aaaaaand i poured water all over it...from what i could see no water dripped off from the sides! It legit stayed on the mat! Also added bonus...this is heeeeavy so my cats can rip it apart or even use it to sharpen their claws on lol and my boy cat looves to lay on it cuz i think its cooling? Im not sureI got the XL one
My wife and I absolutely love this bath mat! We've used diatomaceous earth mats before, and this one stands out—mainly because of its size. At 32"x20", it’s large enough to catch all the water from our hair, body, and even the occasional splash when stepping out of the tub. After my shower tonight, there wasn't a drop left on the floor. One of our favorite things about these mats is that they don’t stay damp, which means no worrying about mold or mildew. It’s also surprisingly satisfying to watch the wet footprints disappear within seconds. The box includes three fine-grit sandpaper sheets to refresh the mat’s absorbency after long-term use. Based on past experience, you might not need to use them until a year or more in.They also include a standard anti-slip pad, but we haven’t needed it—the mat is big, heavy, and stays in place just fine on its own.I love this mat so much I’ll be buying more as gifts for friends and family!
